Statement of Faith and Doctrine

We accept the scriptures as the revealed will of God and adopt these statements of fundamental truths and doctrine. We believe…

THE SCRIPTURES- The Bible is the inspired word of God and the revealed will of God.We accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. (II Tim. 3:15-17, Heb. 4:12, I Thess. 2:13, II Pet. 1:21)

THE GODHEAD- There is one true Godhead comprised of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All are co-equal and co-eternal. (Mt. 28:19, Jn 14:16,26, Rom.1: 19-20). Jesus Christ, God manifested in the flesh, is the second member of the Godhead. (Jn. 1:1,14, Col. 1:15, 2:9, Mt. 1:21-23, Phil 2:6-7)

MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION- Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, gave his life and shed his blood to redeem and restore man back to God. (Gen. 1:26-27, Rom. 5:12-21, Eph. 1:7, Rom. 3:10, 23-26, Mt. 20:28)

SALVATION- Salvation is a gift of God to man. On the cross, Jesus Christ became sin and sickness, providing both salvation and healing for all mankind. (Ps. 103:3, Rom. 6:23, II Cor. 5:21, Col. 2:13-14, 1 Jn. 2:2, Mt. 8:17, 1 Pet. 2:24). This salvation comes by believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confession with your mouth, that Jesus is lord. (Rom. 3:21-24,10:8-11, Eph. 2:8, Acts 4:12, 16:30-31). The inward evidence, to the believer is the direct witness of the Spirit. (Rom. 8:16, 1 Jn. 4:7,13) The outward evidence to all men is a life of true holiness and love. (Jn. 13:35, Rom. 12:1-2, 1 Jn. 2:5-6). Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; however, our works are evidence of our faith and will determine our rewards in eternity. (Rom. 14:10-12, II Cor. 5:10, Rom. 3:28, Eph. 2:8-10, Titus 3:5-7, James 2:18, 1 Cor. 3:12-15)

WATER BAPTISM- Baptism in water is by total immersion; is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection. (Mt. 28:19, Rom. 6:4, Col. 2:12, Acts 8:36-39, 16:31-34)

LORD’S SUPPER- The celebration of the Lord’s Supper by eating of the bread and drinking of the cup is a remembrance of Jesus. (1 Cor. 11:24-32, Luke 22:19-20, Mt. 26:26-27,29, Jn. 6:32-35, 48-58)

BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT- All believers are entitled to, and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is a gift from God as promised by the Lord, Jesus Christ. With this comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial physical evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit himself gives utterance and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service. (Mt. 3:11, Jn. 14:16-17, 26, Jn. 16:7, Jn. 7:37-39, Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-9, 2:4,38-39, 10:44-46, 11:15-17, 19:1-7, 1 Cor. 12:1-31)

SANCTIFICATION- The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return. (Heb. 12:14, Eph. 4:24, 1 Thess. 5:23, II Cor. 3:18, Phil. 3:12-14, 1 Cor. 1:30,32, 6:11, 1 Thess. 4:3, Heb. 13:12, 10:10,14, Acts 26:18, 20:32, 1 Pet. 1:2, II Tim. 2:21-22)

THE CHURCH AND ITS MISSION- Jesus Christ is the head of the church. The Church is the body of Christ. (Eph. 1:22-23, Mt. 16:18, Eph. 5:23, I Cor. 12:27) Each believer is an integral part and has a vital function. (1 Cor. 1:2, Eph.2:19-22, 1 Cor. 12:12-20). The church should praise and glorify God in evangelism, in edification of believers, and in worship. (Eph. 3:21, 1:12, II Ttim.4:2, 1 Pet. 3:15, Mk. 16:15, Mt. 28:19-20, Rom. 10:17, II Cor. 5:19-20, 1 Cor. 14:26, Col 3:16, Eph. 5:18-20, Gal. 6:1-2, Heb. 10:25, 1 Thess. 5:12-22, II Cor. 9:7, 1 Jn. 3:17)

THE RETURN AND MILLENNIAL REIGN OF JESUS OUR LORD- Our blessed hope: Jesus is coming again to gather all his saints to heaven (Acts 1:11, 1 Thess. 4:16-17, II Thess. 2:1, Jn 14:2-3, Titus 2:11-14) Following the tribulation, Jesus Christ shall return to earth with his saints from heaven to rule and reign for one thousand years. After this, there will be a new heaven and a new earth as the scripture promised. (1 Cor. 15:51-52, Rom. 11:25,27, II Thess. 1:7, Rev. 19:11-16, 20:1-7, 21:1-5)

FINAL JUDGEMENT AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION- Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. They will burn in the lake of fire. (Mt. 10:33, Jn. 3:15-16,36, Heb. 9:27, Rev. 19:20, and 20:10-15)
